Beazley Bring Big Bucks For Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

Colleagues at the Birmingham branch of the global speciality insurance firm marked the 10 year anniversary of the company’s annual ‘Make a Difference’ month, a community focused initiative through hours of volunteering, raising over a whopping £15,000 for our charity.

The charity committee at Beazley, based within the Colmore Business District, chose to support us through its charity initiative ‘Make a Difference’, after the cause was nominated by colleagues at the end of 2023.

It’s a cause that resonates strongly with the entire Beazley workforce, many of whom have children or personally know a child who has been treated or cared for in some way by our hospital.

Since then, teams at the rapidly growing firm have gifted over 200 hours of their time to support the charity, including sourcing and delivering gifts for patients to receive at Christmas and dressing up as Santa and his elves to greet kids at the charity’s Grotto outside the hospital.

Beazley hasn’t shied away from getting stuck in at fundraising events either, sending a team of 17 eager rowers all dressed in hot pink to participate in our annual Dragon Boat Race at Mailbox Birmingham.

Over the last year through fundraising, matched funding and grants, Beazley has raised over £15,000 for us and plans to continue its support throughout 2025.

Sam Franks, Beazley’s Country Manager and Head of Partner Engagement UK and Ireland, said: “The Beazley team feels a huge sense of pride knowing that we’re making a tangible difference to the children in our community and that aligns with our values as a sustainable business with goals to enhance livelihoods by doing the right thing.

“We’ve all really enjoyed getting involved with the charity’s events, from putting smiles on kids’ faces with gifts to making a splash with colleagues from across the office we don’t usually get to spend time with. Supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and the community we work and live in has brought us closer together and we’re excited to continue supporting this worthy cause into the future.”

Katie Harris, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “The Beazley team has shown incredible passion and commitment over the past year and we can’t thank them enough for the time they’ve given and contribution they’ve made to support our hospital.

“In addition to the gift of their time, their generous fundraising donation will help us create better experiences for the 100,000 sick kids our hospital treats every single year, through the improvement of our environment and the funding of new equipment and research.”
