Charity Champions
From One BCH To Another
6 Oct, 2025
In 2025, BCH Ltd, a specialist surveying firm, was recognised as one of our Charity Champions after raising over £6,000 for us in just over a year as part of a charity partnership.
When BCH Ltd began considering their charity partner, they were looking to make more than a donation, they wanted to make a difference. With family values eminent throughout BCH’s team, and many colleagues being parents, there was a huge appreciation for the work our hospital undertakes. The similarities in BCH acronyms and red brand colours were the icing on the cake and when a staff vote for charity partner was returned, the BCH staff responded with resounding support for our hospital and charity.
Since kicking off the partnership, the BCH Ltd team embarked on an inspiring year of fundraising and support. From hosting a charity cricket match at a local club and taking on the gruelling Tough Mudder challenge, to festive Jolly Jumper Days and friendly office sweepstakes, the whole team got stuck into raising funds to support our sick kids.
But BCH Ltd’s impact goes beyond financial contributions. After an invitation to visit our hospital, Managing Director, Mark Briggs, said: “The volume of patients was clear, as was the commitment and enthusiasm of the hospital team. We knew we wanted to support the hospital and directed resource to ways we could have a positive impact.”
Lead by Stacey Marriott, the company’s Business Support Manager and BCH Charity Partner Advocate, the colleagues helped to develop distraction packs – activity-filled kits designed to comfort and occupy younger patients while they await treatment in the hospital’s Emergency Department. To date over 4,000 packs have been printed and distributed.
Seeing the success of the packs, BCH Ltd began work on new booklets called ‘pause packs’ aimed at supporting the mental wellbeing of older children during their hospital experience. The team even volunteered their time, dressing up as Santa and his elves at our Christmas grotto, and again at Easter, leading crafting activities with patients.
“We’re incredibly proud and honoured to be named Charity Champions,” said Stacey. “Supporting the hospital and its patients is so rewarding and it’s become a big part of our company’s culture – so much so that my role has evolved to include managing our fundraising activities, volunteering days, and to nurture the relationship we’ve developed throughout our partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
“Fundraising for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity brings BCH Ltd together and we’re excited to continue getting stuck into all kinds of events and initiatives for the foreseeable future!”
Ellie Maybury, Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “Since day one of our wonderful partnership, every single member of the BCH Ltd team has given their all to support our sick kids.
We can’t thank them enough for the time they’ve volunteered, the personal challenges they’ve faced to raise incredible funds and the ongoing support our patients are receiving daily through BCH’s distraction packs. The team are truly making a difference.”
